About Jodhpur: Known as the Blue city, Jodhpur is the most visited destination in Rajasthan, thanks to the gigantic Mehrangarh fort where some scenes of Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani was shot it makes your visit worth-while. Café hopping and exploring several havelis is a must thing to do.

Jaisalmer is named after Rawal Jaisal, a Bhati ruler [failed verification] who founded the city in 1156 AD. Jaisalmer means the Hill Fort of Jaisal. The main reason for calling Jaisalmer as the "Golden City of India" is because the yellow sandstone used throughout the architecture of both the fort and the town below, imbues both with a certain golden-yellow light.
