Itinerary

Day 1: A Day of Blessings and a ride over River Bramhaputra

Meet your Trikon buddy at Guwahati Airport. Begin your journey into 'Land of the red river and blue hills’, as they call it. Our first step would be to take the blessings of Goddess Kamakhya, this is an extremely old temple and has millions of devotees flocking around from different parts of the country. A welcome into the state would be incomplete without some local food, so we head out to try out some local Assamese food. With a full belly, it’s now time to start experiencing the natural wonders of Assam. We begin with a sunset ferry on the River Bramhaputra – watch the sun set over the horizon as the temperatures begin to cool down. Have a hearty dinner and prepare for a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Kaziranga National Park - Of Wildlife and Colourful Flowers

As we move away from the city, we drive towards the most known place in Assam – Kaziranga National Park. It’s famous for valid reasons – its expanse, flora and fauna and of course its wildlife! We reach our stay, freshen up, eat lunch and go for the afternoon jeep Safari into the National Park. There are higher chances to spot the tiger and other animals during this safari as we will travel over a relatively larger area. Once done, we spend the evening by visiting the largest orchid park in north-east India. Let the colourful treat sink in as we enjoy dinner time and rest for the night.

Day 3: A day into the Tea gardens, Dip into a waterfall and an Elephant Safari

Wake up early, an elephant will be waiting for us to make us meet his close relative - the single-horned rhino from close. The bumpy ride is awesome fun and is also a treat for our digestive system . After the safari, you’re in for some caffeine rush on visiting the infamous tea gardens of Assam. Once done, it’s time to relax our muscles and feel light -  a dip into the Kakochang Falls. Swim around and let go off all your tiredness in the cool waters.

Day 4: A ferry into the largest river island in the world

Wake up to the sounds of chirping birds and crows of the roosters. Today, we ferry off into the largest river island in the world – Majuli! This island is formed over the River Bramhaputra. During the monsoons, sometimes parts of the island have to face the dark side of her with floods roaring its shores.

Majuli is home to a preserved tribal culture in terms of the traditional mask making and its ancient temples known as ‘Satra’s’. it is also known as the cultural capital of Assam. Buy yourselves a nice souvenir from here in a way also supporting the traditional art and culture.

Day 5: A Drive across the Assamese Countryside & a beautiful sunset

As we ferry back over the Bramhaputra, it is to be a long drive through the forests and tea gardens of Assam to reach Tezpur. We visit the ‘Fort of Fire’ – Agnigarh, a fortress with an ancient history and amazing sunset views. Let this beautiful sunset sink into your soul while we continue our drive to Nagaon, where we’d be staying for the night.

Day 6: A Plunge Into The Hidden Lakes and Waterfalls of Assam

Wake up, step out from your drive-Lag and be prepared to get visuals of the ethereal beauty that it is – Panimur Falls. These falls are formed by the rocky obstacles in the course of River Kopili. However, water finds its own route, and oh boy – in a grand manner! Once done, its now time to move to Paradise! Yes, truly the place we visit next is 'Paradise Lake aka Neelapani Lake', as the folklore goes, there are some supernatural powers living beneath the surface water of this lake. Whether true or not, it does look super-naturally beautiful! After a long day, time to be back and relax at your hotel.

Day 7: An Evening Boat Ride and One Last Hop To Shop

Today, we wake up at leisure as I’m sure each one would require some rest. Drive back out towards Guwahati and move to Chandubi lake. This would be the last destination for our trip. On our way, we visit Sualkuchi -  a traditional Assamese Silk Weaving Village. Shop for yourself or your dear ones.

Go for a sunset boat ride in the lake as the sky opens up its shades of pink and purple. We drive back to our hotel near the airport, play games, recollect memories and relax for the night!

Day 8:  The Final Goodbye

Wake up in comfort, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before moving out to the airport for departure!
