Overview

Kedarnath Tour:

The Kedarnath shrine is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, situated against the backdrop of the magnificent. Kedarnath range. Legend has it that after the battle of Mahabharata, Pandavas were filled with guilt and grief of having killed their own cousins and decided to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. However, Lord Shiva eluded them and took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull and when followed by Pandavas, he dived into the ground, leaving his hump behind. It is believed that the arms of Lord Shiva appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, his belly at Madmaheshwar, and his head with hair at Kalpeshwar.

Badrinath Tour:

Badrinath was re-established as a major pilgrimage site by Adi Shankara in the 8th century. In earlier days, pilgrims used to walk hundreds of miles to visit the Badrinath temple. The temple has been repeatedly destroyed by earthquakes and avalanches. As late as the First World War, the town consisted only of the 20-odd huts used by the temple's staff, but the site drew thousands each year and up to 50,000 on its duodecennial festivals (every twelve years). In recent years its popularity has increased still more, with an estimated 600,000 pilgrims visiting during the 2006 season compared to 90,676 in 1961. The temple in Badrinath is also a sacred pilgrimage site for Vaishnavites. Badrinath is also the gateway to several mountaineering expeditions headed to mountains like Nilkantha.

Tungnath Tour:

Tungnath is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an altitude of 3,680 meters (12,073 feet) above sea level, making it the highest Shiva temple in the world. Tungnath is one of the Panch Kedar temples and is considered to be the third temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage, after Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar. The temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old and is one of the oldest temples in India. It is also a popular trekking destination and attracts a large number of tourists and devotees every year. The trek to Tungnath starts from Chopta, which is well-connected by road to other major cities in Uttarakhand. The trek is relatively easy and can be completed in 3-4 hours. Apart from the temple, Tungnath is also known for its scenic beauty and offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, just below the peak of Chandrashila and Chaukhamba.
