About Kumta-Gokarna Situated by the Konkan Railway route, the trail between Kumta and Gokarna connects more than 10 clean and beautiful beaches on the northern tip of Karnataka. Most are untouched by regular tourists and only shelter few shacks for beach lovers. Start the trail at Kumta, walk through Vannali Beach, Kadle Beach, Nirvana Beach, Paradise Beach, Half-Moon Beach and Om Beach to name a few. End the trek at Gokarna, which is home to a famous Shiva Temple. Please Note: This is a two-day trek covering approximately 15 kms in all. Every participant must carry 2 full bottles of water since there may not be shops or water outlets in between stops. There will be a vehicle to carry luggage like sleeping bags, tents, camping equipment etc. So you need to carry only a day pack for water, food, cap etc. Please divide your luggage in 2 bags accordingly. The bag that is to be left in the vehicle should be locked. The legacy of both the names has come from the geographical structure and high rising horizons of this trek, which indeed confirm a whole lot of adventure that ends with a rejuvenating experience at the campsite. Thanks to the 200 ft depth and long way descend, which gives you the adrenaline rush and makes your descending experience a moment to cherish. What’s even more thrilling about the sandhan valley trek? Well, when you’ve to reach mid-way and feel you’ve done enough. To your surprise, there’s an adventurous rappelling patch that you need to abseil (rappel) for reaching the base and moving further towards your campsite. On reaching the Sandhan valley campsite after an adventurous descend, a bonfire and tasty local food wait to treat your taste buds. Camping besides the huge pond, playing fun games, star gazing, and lots more is bound to add blissful memories to your travel diaries. Trekking & Camping to Harishchandragad Fort Grade: Moderate | Endurance: Easy Harischandragad Trek This mighty Fort never fails to amuse wanderers with its abundance of, mythological, historical importance and most picturesque it’s mountainous ranges. Yeah Harishchandragad it is! Harishchandragad Trek : is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar District of India. Its history is linked with that of Malshej Ghat kothale village and it has played a major role in guarding and controlling the surrounding region. The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of Microlithic man have been discovered here. The various Puranas (ancient scriptures) like Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and Skandapurana include many references about Harishchandragad. Its origin is said to have been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty. This cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. It provides a scenic view of the surrounding region and the setting sun. The cliff has an overhang, but has been climbed many times. Sometimes a circular rainbow (Brocken Spectre phenomenon) can be seen from this point. It can be seen only when there is a bit of mist in the valley, and the sun is right behind the person facing the valley. Trekking till Harischandragad and camping at this historical location is indeed an experience worth remembering. Grade: Easy Rajmachi (Udhewadi) is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in Maharashtra. The fortification at Rajmachi consists of two forts, namely Shrivardhan Fort and Manaranjan Fort. Rajmachi Fort is a popular trekking destination! Leave behind the city chaos and lose yourself to the mountains by spending some fun time. IMPORTANT: Consuming liquor or any kind of Alcoholic substance is prohibited. Carrying any kind of substance that’s illegal is not allowed. Smoking is strictly not allowed. Anybody found smoking or consuming alcoholic drinks will be expelled from the event without refund. Fitness & Health – Though trek is a fun-filled activity, it demands good amount of physical fitness. If you are under medication, please carry your medicines. Dudhsagar Falls is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the border of the Indian states of Karnataka and Goa. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m(1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet). The falls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park among the Western Ghats. The area is surrounded by deciduous forests with rich bio diversity.
Grade: Medium Prabalgad fort, earlier known as Muranjan, was built to watch over the Kalyan forts and Panvel forts. Trek to Prabalgad is a moderate one, with promising views after some effort. Adventurists will love to witness the sunrise amid a panorama of a number of peaks from the top of Prabalgad fort, including Kalavantin Durg, Matheran, Malanggad and Vikatgad. About the place Prabalgad could have been as famous as Matheran, if only it had a reliable water source. It is said that when British developed Matheran as a hill station, Prabalgad was under consideration too! The Prabalgad fort, which has seen one ruler after another fight for its possession, now sits peacefully in ruins, reclaimed by nature.
