The Dream Bike Ride Trip – Srinagar to Manali

We all know how our heart beats tremendously the moment we witness the winding roads and deserted mountains of Ladakh. Probably, a biker’s only dream must be to ride across the roads of Ladakh at least once in his or her lifetime. The road to Leh is remains open between June-September making it the perfect time for the enthusiastic bikers to pull the gear and go vrooommmmm….

Ladakh boasts of the most scenic of backdrops you’ll ever see, the most adventurous of passes you’ll ever ride and the most thrilling of experiences you’ll ever get. The Khardungla pass, Pangong and Tso Moriri lakes and Nubra Valley are just highlights of the trip but there’s lots more to explore.

You’ve read about it in books, seen the imagery in films and heard about it from your friends. It’s high time you witnessed it too, because none of those options above can give full justice to the actual feeling of being there. So pack your bags with zeal and enthusiasm for once-in-a-lifetime experience and ride it out to Ladakh with Trikon!

This year Trikon is all set to lead the biking convoy with passionate bikers across the roads of Srinagar to Manali. Join us as we are take you across the beautiful roads and some of the most post carded and book marked destinations in India.

Itinerary

Day 01 : 19th June - Meet the Team at Srinagar – The Heavenly abode       

Meet and greet at Srinagar happens at the airport and we proceed towards the hotel via cabs. Room allocations and tour briefing is done by the tour lead. Have dinner and sleep tight.

Day 02 : 20th June - Sonmarg To Kargil

After breakfast, We pay respects at the Kargil war memorial here. The sight of army headquarters and establishments along Drass will definitely give you goose bumps! We will also witness Zozila Pass which is one the most significant passes in India. At an elevation of 11,575 ft (3528 mtrs) above the sea level, the pass connects Srinagar and Leh in the Western Himalayan Mountain Ranges. We will also witness the magnificent peaks of Tiger Hills and Tololing enroute. Overnight stay and dinner happens at Kargil.

Day 03 : 21st June - Kargil To Leh

Finally start our ride to Leh however enroute explore palces, Post breakfast, we explore Lamayuru, which is one of the oldest Monastery of Ladakh, on the way and enjoy the view of the Moon Landscape. We also halt and explore the Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, and Hall of Fame museum. Reach Leh by Evening and overnight stay at Leh.

Day 04 : 22nd June - Leh To Nubra Valley

Here’s the most crucial day when you will ride across the highest accessible motorable pass in the world - Khardung La at 18,380 ft. Witness the change of landscape as we keep proceeding on this route. You will find flowing rivers enroute. Take a halt at the iconic Diskit Monastery and witness a tall Buddha statue. You can also take a ride on the double humped camels in the valley. We will be staying in a campsite amidst the beautiful mountains.

Day 05 : 23rd June - Nubra Valley To Pangong Tso

Start your ride towards the mesmerizing Pangong Tso post breakfast taking the unexplored and untouched Shyok village route. This path is famous for its waterfalls, and the beautiful scenic view. The first view of the lake will leave you awestruck and take your breath away, we keep riding to reach our campsite near the lake. A full-fledged dinner with a some story and games session would bring an end to the day.

Day 06 : 24th June - Pangong Tso To Hanle

After breakfast, we leave for one of  the tucked away destination Hanle that just has 200 families. This village has recently been opened for tourists and travellers.  For 30 Kms, we would ride along the ink blue water of the Pangong Tso. This  journey will make us go gaga for a fun filled off-roading journey taking us through Maan, Merak, and Chushul. We will halt at the Rezang-La 1962 Indo-China War Memorial to pay homage to the Martyrs and continue our bike ride. If time permits we also see the world's second largest observatory. The night sky view in Hanle seems almost surreal as one can see the galaxy with naked eyes. We end  the day after a great meal and retreat in the cozy homestay.

Day  07 : 25th June - Hanle To Tso Moriri

Today, we ride till Puga Sumdo before taking a left towards Tso moriri. Puga gives us beautiful views of the hot water springs there making one realize the untapped beauty of Mother Nature in Ladakh, which is quite unchecked. Watch the landscapes change throughout the ride before reaching the lake. Overnight stay at the Campsite/hotel.

Day  08 : 26th June - Tso Moriri To Sarchu

Get ready to ride through the longest journey of our trip. Today, we will visit the Tsokar lake (salted lake), Mori plains (a 50 Km straight roads amidst the mountains), Gata loops (the famous 21 hair pin bends), Lachungla (a beautiful pass located at 16,600ft) and the Nakila (15,548ft). This tiresome day gets wrapped with thrill. Overnight stay at the campsite/hotel.

Day  09 : 27th July - Sarchu To Jispa

Time for a short ride. Today we will ride for a total 80 Kms to reach Jispa. Enroute we will visit the Suraj Tal and Deepak Tal. We will also cross the famous Baralacha La Pass, situated at 16,616ft. Today, we bid adieu to Ladakh and enter the land of gods - Himachal Pradesh. Now, the day comes to an end with a relaxed dinner and an overnight stay in camps.

Day 10 : 28th July - Jispa To Manali

After breakfast, We will visit Rohtang Pass today through a scenic route. On reaching Manali, we will deposit the bikes and call it a day. Rohtang pass, situated at 13,058ft. As we proceed towards Manali, one notices the sudden crossover of landscapes from the cold browns to the lush greens. Upon reaching the hotel, we celebrate and cherish the conclusion of this unforgettable journey with your fellow riders. Overnight stay in the Hotel.

Day  11 : 29th July - Manali To Delhi

Say good bye to this wonderful trip and your biker buddies and board our bus to Delhi. Time to get back to the routine with a bag full of happy memories and stories for a lifetime !

Day  12 : 30th July - Reach Delhi Bus Depot by 9-10 am

  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like landslides, roadblocks..Etc
  • Monastery fees, personal expenses, tips and RTO fines
  • Any other item which is not specified under cost inclusions
  • Permit Cost for Hanle cost 600 per person
  • Any accidental damage cost will be borne by the participant

FAQs

IMPORTANT:
Safety gears are must both for rider & pillion
Road Rules (1 file or 2 file) to be decided by group leader
It’s not a race so be in file and don’t try to overtake other riders
No wrong side riding or stunt on the highway
No alcohol on rides

Consuming liquor or any kind of Alcoholic substance is prohibited. Carrying any kind of substance that’s illegal is not allowed. Smoking is strictly not allowed. Anybody found smoking or consuming alcoholic drinks will be expelled from the event without refund.
